THE SEARCH FOR OLD MATERIALS
REPOSITORY (re·pos·i·to·ry)
Let us recap how we got where we are:
And where will the Reams materials come from? Obviously from donors like you. And the sources?
- A place where things may be put for safekeeping.
- A warehouse.
- A museum.
- One who is entrusted with secrets or confidential information.
Let us recap how we got where we are:
- Yes, thirty years have passed since those heady days at the Blue Ridge Interfaith Christian Church retreat when it seemed so obvious that the health of mankind was poised for a quantum leap upward. Patients were coming from all directions to seek the kind care of a "country doctor" who seemed utterly unimpressed by the "it's all in your head," or "go home and suffer," or even "go home and die" sentences they had been awarded by the medical system.
- Enlightened medical doctors, chiropractors, nurses, practitioners of various other modalities, and even laymen from around the country gathered in classrooms to be taught what billions upon billions of dollars of research had overlooked: health lies not in abuse of the sick with drugs, radiation, and surgery, but instead in gentle detoxification, proper hydration, effective digestion, basic mineral restoration, and patient rest. The lessons were not contrary in any sense to the paths laid down by such drugless physicians as Trall, Ehret, Lindlahr, Tilden, nurses such as Nightingale, or a hundred other teachers all reaching back to the true lessons of Hippocrates. Quite the contrary: those earlier messages were fully accepted, but the key element missing in all of them was at last included. The Reams Biological Theory of Ionization taught that full healing could only take place when all missing minerals were restored to the organism and pH balance was regained.
- The man those classes were focused on, Carey Reams, had taken the fundamentals of soil science and devised a simple formula that combined the measure of pH and conductivity with analysis of nitrogen and sugar byproducts. His students were amazed to realize that a quick and easy analysis of a patient's urine and saliva could unfailingly identify what was wrong not only in those cases they had diagnosed, but also in those that had defied diagnosis. Standard medical diagnosis was no longer part of the process.
- The future looked bright. The students dreamed of returning to their communities and revolutionizing health care. But such was not to be. The organized medical system fought back so as to protect their fiefdom, both income and prestige. Jail sentences became the order of the day for Reams and anyone who followed too closely. Fear permeated the Reams community. People whispered instead of shouting. Vital materials were passed as handwritten notes instead of published.
